  • 2020 Telemedicine Webinar Series, Part I: Telemedicine Legal and Regulatory Issues

Includes a Live Web Event on 01/22/2020 at 2:00 PM (EST)

AHLA is proud to offer its sixth annual four-part Telemedicine Webinar Series. This first session will focus on the fundamentals of telemedicine legal and regulatory issues, and is appropriate for both beginners and intermediate-level attorneys seeking an update to the ever-evolving telemedicine legal landscape. Healthcare providers and institutions alike have seen a rapid proliferation of telemedicine services, and the market forecast only continues to grow. In this first webinar, participants will engage with lawyers who successfully help clients build sustainable, compliant telemedicine service offerings. The panelists will discuss the overall legal and regulatory landscape for telemedicine, focusing on primary areas of licensure, accepted telemedicine modalities to create a valid doctor-patient relationship, malpractice considerations, telemedicine practice standards, prescribing drugs and controlled substances, informed consent, and multistate services. Each subsequent webinar in the series will provide a deeper dive into a specific functional or operational area within telemedicine.

Time: 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern (90 minutes)
    Session Format: Live Webinar
    CLE Credit Available:  Yes

In most states, AHLA webinars meet the requirements for continuing legal education and attorneys may self-apply for CLE credit. AHLA’s live distance learning webinars are pre-approved for CLE credit in the following states: Alabama, Illinois, Nebraska, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
